Number of holes in the rim

The usual number of holes we order for stock models is as follows.

Road disc	24/24
Road rim-brake	20/24
MTB	28/28
Enduro, DH	32/32

Other number of holes

We can have any other hole count manufactured to order. For example, if you need to rebuild a Campagnolo 7/14-hole Shamal system or a rim for 36/36 hubs, simply select made-to-order production in the rim details.

Tire attachment

Rims differ according to the tire attachment type and intended use. Hook rims offer reliability and broad compatibility, while the modern hookless design provides lower weight and better performance at lower pressures, making it ideal for tubeless systems. Tubular rims are the choice of professionals seeking a smooth ride and low weight, while classic clincher rims, which EIE no longer offers, provide a basic solution for tires with inner tubes.

Hole type

EIE offers three types of nipple hole drilling. The most basic and by far the most widely used is the "standard" option. An "internal nipple hole" can be useful for road aero wheels, while the "without rim bead hole" option is a specialty: the inner side of the rim has no holes for inserting the nipples.

Rim finish

EIE offers a wide range of rim painting options to give the final look. There are matte, glossy and satin options for different preferences, with matte painting being the most popular. For a special look, you can choose the Paintless finish, which is very light and ideal for low rims. Another option is the Pantone color painting, where you can also choose effects such as "crystal". This option is available at an additional cost.
