We generally use nipples that can be trued from both the outside and the inside. DT Swiss uses the “Squorx” model, while Sapim uses the “Double Square” nipple. During wheel building and truing, we can use a tool on the inside of the nipple, keeping the outside clean and scratch-free. We also use only nipples designed to prevent spontaneous loosening: DT Swiss “Pro Lock” and Sapim “Secure Lock”.

Aluminium nipples
Aluminium nipples are lightweight and, thanks to anodising, available in several different colours. If you want lightweight wheels, choose aluminium nipples!
Brass nipples
Brass nipples are heavier than aluminium nipples, but brass is more resistant than aluminium both mechanically and against corrosion. Brass nipples are available in black and silver. If you want more durable wheels, choose brass nipples!
