This rim stands out for its excellent weight-to-resistance ratio. In 2025, this rim has already had an innovative form and the main improvement was the bead (bead), which was widened from 3 mm to 3.5 mm, thanks to which the rim is very resistant while maintaining low weight. Thanks to the low height of 20 mm, this rim is also a little „flexible“, which ultimately contributes to its resistance.
The rims in the Downhill (DH) version are designed for extreme conditions and demanding descents. Thanks to maximum strength and resistance, they are able to withstand hard impacts and high speeds on rocky and technical tracks. Sapim Race are double-butted spokes that combine low weight with high strength and flexibility. With a thickness of 2.0 mm to 1.8 mm in the middle section and a further widening to 2.0 mm at the threads and heads, they offer the ideal balance of stiffness and comfort. They are made of high-strength stainless steel and are suitable for road, gravel and MTB bikes. Compared to constant-diameter spokes, they are lighter, more flexible and more resistant to fatigue. These nipples have a larger bevel of the contact surface compared to regular nipples, which allows for better rotation of the nipple to the angle of the incoming spoke. Squorx special nipples are recommended to be centered from the inside of the rim! They have a higher torx head and, thanks to this, the thread is shifted more upwards! This then allows the nipple to be screwed in more, which then strengthens the connection between the rim and the nipple! Of course, there is the possibility of colored versions, versions with Prolock integrated paste in the threads – it prevents the nipple from loosening during extreme impacts!
